Countryside French round rug - poppy
An extremely stunning design circa 1880's in terra cottas, barn reds, golds
and ivory is surrounded by a an intricate border. Micro looped hand hooked
construction in long staple 100% Chinese wool and utilizing the centuries old
technique of heavy, hand hooking. First, the canvas cloth is put onto a frame,
then the design of the rug is stenciled on the canvas. The artisan uses a
hooking device and follows the pattern, starting with the smallest accent color
and continuing until the entire surface of the rug is totally covered. Firm
cotton twill backing. Professionally clean.
