Paymaster's Box - circa early 1800's
This was originally used as a cash box when disbursing pay to company employees. However, housewives adapted it to use as a sewing box or to store other niceties. Measures approximately 8.75" tall x 13.25 inches wide x 6.5 inch deep. Shown in a pine with medium true old brown stain and gray overtones..
