Large Colonial Salt Box 
For easy accessibility of the cook, most salt boxes were hung by the wood cook stove. They didn't have salt shakers and the salt was only available in large clumps. This  piece is a a reproduction from Massachusetts. The modified "lollipop" configuration on the back was common in many early pieces. Measures approximately 14" tall x 10.75" wide, with a projection of about 5.75 inches. Shown in Colonial blue.Note: let us know if this is for "display" only or if you plan to store salt in it, and the interior will be finished appropriately.
