
Knife Box -
circa 1780's
The craftsmen during the late 18th century made knife
boxes that we typically designed like the one above. They were plain, yet
practical, and contained many slots so that knives could be safely stored, yet
easily withdrawn. This item is shown in the an old whitewash finish with a
distressed effect for authenticity. The box measures approximately
17" high by 9.75" wide with about a 4 inch projection.
