circa 1815
Sometimes found in Colonial homes, these types of small
boxes fit on top of a desk or lap and held a few writing supplies in a
convenient place. The slanted top could hold the writer's letter while he
composed in comfort. The original piece this was designed from came from Vermont
and dates to about 1815. Measures approximately 9.75" tall x 8.5 inches wide x
11 inches
deep. Shown in burgundy red.
